Robert Cravens
Business Director

Robert Cravens is a Business Director at Phillip Townsend Associates (PTAI) based in Houston. He has over 25 years of refining and petrochemical industry experience with positions in business planning, project administration, operations, engineering, and supply chain. He received his MBA degree from the University of Houston - Clear Lake. In addition, he holds a BA degree in Chemistry from Austin College and a BS degree in Chemical Engineering from Texas A&M University. Robert's prior employers include Atlantic Richfield, Lyondell-Citgo Refining, and Lyondell Chemical Company.

Mr. Cravens manages the SPI (Site Personnel Index) efficiency benchmarking program acquired from Royal Dutch Shell. His 13 years working inside various processing plants provides a solid foundation for the analysis of the site complexity used in the SPI calculations. In addition, Robert directs the Process Safety benchmarking program developed for the Center for Chemical Process Safety. Finally, he also manages the LNG Shipping benchmarking program.
