What is the process?

PARTICIPANTS DEFINE THE FOCUS AND THE DATA

Participants gather in a series of joint meetings facilitated by Townsend and attended by legal counsel to ensure a conservative approach to legal issues. Metrics Definitions are developed to be used for data collection. Other issues are also resolved such as timing and frequency for data collection or report generation, output ratio definitions and security concerns.

METRICS DEFINITIONS ARE DISTRIBUTED

Townsend the results from the joint meetings in a data document which contains metrics definitions. This document is used by all participants to ensure data is collected and reported uniformly.

PARTICIPANTS SUBMIT DATA

Participants collect their own data and enter it into a spreadsheet on a diskette which is then delivered via courier to Townsend. Responsibility for security of the data passes to Townsend when our Metrics Service Director signs the courier’s log indicating receipt of the diskette.

VERIFICATION & ANALYSIS

Townsend transfers the data into a dedicated and secured computer system. The data is reviewed and verified with the participant for any apparent anomalies. After verification, the data is incorporated into the industry data set and analysis begins.

METRICS DELIVERED TO CLIENTS

The metrics for all the items requested by the participants are delivered to the participant by courier in a security envelope. We are frequently asked to provide separate review presentations and analysis to the participants at their locations.
