What We Don't Do

Benchmarking of some form is used by organizations worldwide. Whether it is performed, internally or by an external resource, its primary value to management is determined by how the comparative data is validated, interpreted and applied. The vast majority of benchmarking data is derived from publicly accessible information and does not tell management much that it does not already know. Many consulting firms also prepare and distribute specific industry reports and studies containing benchmarking data. Commonly, this practice is employed to attract consulting projects of one type or another.

At Philip Townsend Associates, we believe that is important to be the best at what you do and not attempt to be all things to all Clients. It is therefore important to understand our uniqueness and to be very clear about what we do not do:

  • We don't use data from sources other than our clients.
  • We don't publish or share our data, in any form, with any one other than our customers.
  • We don't use our Clients’ data for any other purposes (e.g. to market other products/services).
