Senior Analyst

We have worked in over 35 countries in over 50 industries. Position Overview: Phillip Townsend Associates (PTAI) is seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Analyst to join our dynamic team.
The Senior Analyst will play a crucial role in solving complex issues for our clients, supporting the development of proprietary tools, benchmarking databases, and marketperspectives.
This individual will contribute to advancing PTA's industry knowledge, specifically in the LNG projects sector, and will be instrumental in managing and executing detailed project plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work in teams to solve pressing and complex issues for clients, and to support the development of new proprietary tools, benchmarking databases, and market perspectives. (35%)
- Contribute to PTAI’s industry knowledge by staying up to date with the latest information in the LNG projects industry. (15%)
- Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan. (10%)
- Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress. (10%)
- Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution. (10%)
- Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement. (10%)
Minimum Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Chemical or Biochemical Engineering or related field and 3 years of related experience, or Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Biochemical Engineering or related field and 5 years of related experience.
- Must have experience in reading and interpreting client-provided process schematic diagrams to accurately capture data detailing the complexity of client plant operations.

Benchmarking Manager - Site Personnel Index Program
This opening is in support of Phillip Townsend Associates Inc.’s (PTAI’s) Performance and Cost Metrics Benchmarking Programs.
The Site Personnel IndexTM (SPI) Program focuses on manpower efficiency, one of the largest of fixed costs for refineries, gas plants and petrochemical manufacturing sites.
Licensed from Shell Global solutions, our clients include leading manufacturers around the world including Shell and its affiliates.
Organizational Role:
The Project Manager is a strong communicator, interfacing with clients at multiple organizational levels including plant management and C-level executives. The Project Manager helps to oversee all aspects of the program, from complexity calculations to data collection to presentation of results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Detailed reading and interpretation of Client provided Process schematic diagrams in order to accurately capture data detailing the complexity of client plant operations.
- Interface with clients when necessary to clearly define data requirements, validate data received, clarify anomalies, and respond to specific client inquiries.
- Import and analyze client data using the PTAI’s proprietary database software.
- Produce tailored presentations in accordance with direction from Project Managerthe Business Director.
- Edit, proof, and produce final project results and related presentations adhering to the Company’s quality standards and project timelines.
- Accompany Business Director on tTravel to client plant sites and corporate offices to validate data received, clarify anomalies in Complexity Analysis, and respond to specific client inquiries, conduct training, and deliver presentntations.
- Travel Requirements: up to 30% - Domestic and International.
Desired Qualifications:
- BS Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering or related field required; MS or MBA is desirable.
- 10+ years petrochemicals experience including Plant Operations and Commercial Management.
- Ability to read engineering schematic diagrams and interpret the complexity of processing equipment represented in PFDs and P& IDs.
- Strong working knowledge of general plant operations with actual hands-on experience with processing equipment.
- Strong understanding of industry dynamics and trends.

Manager - International Business Development
This opening is in support of New Business Development for Phillip Townsend Associates Inc.’s (PTAI’s) Performance and Cost Metrics Benchmarking Programs in targeted countries within the Latin America and Asia Pacific Rim regions
Organizational Role:
The Manager of International Business Development develops and executes the commercial strategy and tactics to expand PTAI’s Benchmarking across multiple industry sectors. He or she identifies market opportunities and works with the Business teams to grow profitable revenue for the company.
Account Management:
- Maintain existing client relationships to solidify commitment and continuity.
- Leverage strong client relationships to identify opportunities for program extensions.
- Coordinate with PTAI Senior Management on client communication, and new program opportunities.
- Assist internal PTAI Business teams with new program definition and development.
Marketing:
- Develop and execute an effective Marketing campaign including Marketing Literature, Advertising and other sales tools promoting PTAI’s programs, services, and capabilities.
- Participate in related Trade Association meetings and in other Industry networking activities.
- Interface with international sales agents to ensure continued focus and attention to PTAI Commercial interests.
New Business Development:
- Identify potential future clients in targeted Asian and Latin American countries.
- Maintain a contact database for those targeted clients.
- Prepare and present solutions proposals
- Negotiate and close related sales agreements.
- Prepare timely and accurate reports as requested for PTAI Senior Management to describe efforts being undertaken, potential business in the pipeline and sales projections.
Travel:
- Plan, organize, and conduct cost-effective business development trips.
- Requirements: 20% international with a minor amount of domestic travel.
Desired Qualifications:
- 7-15 years experience in a Commercial role for the Refining or Chemical industry.
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
- Sound working knowledge of at least one segment of the chemical industry, petroleum refining or other process-oriented industry.
- Functional experience and understanding of the use of data analytics to identify and evaluate refinery or chemical manufacturing process improvement opportunities.
- Outstanding communication skills, verbal and written; ability to present concepts and data in a clear, concise manner.

Seeking a Program Analyst to support the detailed data analysis for PTAI’s Benchmarking Program. This individual will report to the Business Director.
Desired Qualifications include:
- 1-3 years experience working in petrochemical plants or refineries or internships.

Business Manager - Polyolefins
The Business Manager is the key client interface and subject matter expert for PTAI’s global polyolefins benchmarking team. The Business Manager provides detailed commercial and technical insight both internally to the analytical team, and externally to key clients.
The Manager also is responsible for effective team leadership and for growth of the Polyolefins benchmarking business. The Business Manager takes a hands-on leadership approach to manage the execution of program execution and analysis for all of polyolefins benchmarking programs.
The Business Manager is also responsible for preparation and delivery of results presentations to C-level executives at client companies, and driving follow-up on various aspects of the program.
Desired Qualifications include:
- A minimum of 15 years of relevant chemical industry experience, including Polyolefins industry experience.
- BS Chemical, Polymer or Mechanical Engineering or other related field required; MS or MBA is desirable.
- Prior experience in Business Management, Manufacturing, Technology, and/or Business Planning / Analysis. Experience in polyolefins business roles is highly preferable.
- Knowledge of various polyolefins process technologies, including product capabilities and limitations of the major processes.
- Familiarity with olefins and polyolefins profit strategies, value drivers and market pricing dynamics.
- Understanding of Key Performance Indicators involved with polyolefin or petrochemical commercial or manufacturing operations, including supply chain and pricing management.

Business Director - Polyolefins
The Business Director is a key client interface and subject matter expert, providing the commercial and technical perspective critical for effective leadership and growth of collaborative benchmarking projects related to Polyolefins.
Driven to employ statistical data analysis as a valuable tool for helping our clients improve their business, the Director takes a hands-on leadership approach to manage the execution of detailed analyses under this program.
Responsibilities include involvement with all aspects the statistical analysis, preparation of C-Level presentations of results, and following up on various aspects of the program.
